Then Johnny Damon did something amazing and delivered with a single on the ninth pitch of his at bat and a couple of moments later Johnny had a rare double steal for Yankees. As Yesbuthowever Reported:- With two outs late in a tie game, Damon was almost assured to attempt to steal 2nd base and indeed he did. Noticing that the throw from Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz was short, Damon jumped up after sliding in to second base and bolted for third. The Phillies had a shift in place for Yankees 1st baseman Mark Teixeira, leaving third base unguarded. Damon was easily safe at 3rd.
