It's great that you got this clip up so quickly... but there's so much info that was covered in the hour long special that is missed in the clip.
Essentially, the government has said because a little 2" fish called the delta smelt was getting caught in the irrigation pumps, they shut the water off in the San Joachin Valley which has been known as the "Breadbasket of America" for more than 100 years. They have fed this country for over 4 generations, yet now they've turned it into a dustbowl. The unemployment rate in the valley is now around 40%, with over 40,000 farmers out of work. The area being affected is larger than the entire state of Rhode Island
One person who had worked with the Department of Homeland Security in the past said that they were instructed by DHS to watch the irrigation pumps because terrorists might try to shut off the water supply to kill the farms and stop the food production from this region which is so vital to the rest of the country. Instead, our own government has now shut off the water, which by the Department of Homeland Security's own guidelines amounts to an act of terrorism.
The area is in a state of emergency, and the government will not help. There have been 7 attempts so far to present a bill before Congress to get the water turned back on and each time Nancy Pelosi has killed the bill before it could be heard.
It would be great if you could post some other clips that cover this information or provide a link to where the entire show from Sept. 17th can be seen for those who want to know more.
