Alexandra Kerry, 36-year-old daughter of Senator John Kerry, was arrested early Thursday morning according to Los Angeles Police officer Bruce Borihanh. She was released on a $5,000 bond.
The film producer was stopped shortly after midnight by an officer after he observed that her vehicle had expired license tags. After she was pulled over, she was given a field sobriety test and appeared to be impaired.
She was subsequently given a breathalyzer test at the police station and was under the legal limit of .08, though she could still be charged with impairment if the arresting officer witnessed her operating the vehicle unsafely.
A spokesman for John Kerry said, “Senator Kerry supports his daughter and will have no further comment on a private matter.”
